Wir haben ein weiteres Interview mit Peter Cullen gefunden, in dem spricht er auch über die letzte Staffel von Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, aber er spricht auch über Transformers 4.

IGN: When last we saw Optimus on Transformers Prime, things weren’t going so well for him, to say the least.
Cullen: Yeah, he had a rough go last season, but I think he gets up on his feet… You wouldn’t have a Season 3 without Prime getting on his feet! But it was a surprise to me too, because I’ve been through that once before in my life many, many years ago. I croaked and didn’t come back for 20-odd years, but that’s not the case with our Season 3 and Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters.

IGN: What are you most excited about this season?
Cullen: We’re introducing whole new characters. I can’t get into too much detail about it, but I know the kids will be excited and the adults as well. Certainly there are great characters and great acting. The Predaking character is phenomenal and Frank Welker as Megatron is back at his best, making it difficult for me. Steve Blum is full force, as usual. And I’m really looking forward to the viewing again tonight. It’s something that I think everybody is going to enjoy on March 22nd.

IGN: This is the last season. Does it build towards a big finale for the Transformers story?
Cullen: I don’t think there’s ever going to be a big finale. I think, as all series go, it’s always a transformation – there’s a good word! – into another environment. But it’s pretty much like man going to the moon, you know? "Well, that was one season, but now we’re going to Mars! Now there’s a whole new adventure there!" Who knows? I think it’s just as exciting to be wondering where it’s going to go next, you know?

IGN: We know the next feature film is coming. Have you had any conversations about that and Optimus’ role?
Cullen: I just know that I’m going to be part of it and I’m very happy about that and I’m looking forward to getting into production. I think that is sometime in the late spring and for a 2013 premiere. So Michael Bay has an awful lot of time to do his magic.

IGN: What do you think it is about Transformers that has made it so long lasting and able to keep reinventing itself?
Cullen: Some very brilliant, genius people, years ago, conceived this idea that drilled a great space into youthful imagination and it has stayed alive all these years because it is something that had never been done before... Certainly for a kid to play with a toy that became a character that he could relate to, one way or the other, whether mischievous or whether good or whatever – all of the characters took some form of popularity, to one person or another. But the ability for a franchise to pick up on that so many years ago and to keep it alive, I think is a blessing and I don’t see it ever failing or going anywhere. It’s a wonderful franchise that Hasbro came up with and The Hub network is doing a wonderful job of displaying that along with Discovery, so it’s just a great opportunity and I hope it keeps up for another 30 years!

Wir haben hier einen sehr interessanten Artikel gefunden, in dem es um den Charakter von Transformers 4 geht. Er wird wohl einen sehr bedeutenden chinesischen Bestandteil haben, weil er hauptsächlich in China gedreht werden soll. Aber lest selbst:

"The film has a great deal to do with China. Effectively, China is a character in it," said Marc Ganis, president of Jiaflix Enterprises.
Paramount Pictures, the China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises announced in April that they had entered into an agreement regarding the production of "Transformers 4" in China.
The three agreed that the movie will feature a number of Chinese actors and actresses, with a public casting competition launched to select potential stars. Well-known actress Li Bingbing has already been confirmed to play a significant role in the film.
"So much of the movie takes place in China and the character she plays is a Chinese national. So it's a very natural position for her to have," Ganis said.
"Transformers 4" will take a different approach than "Iron Man 3," which had a special Chinese version featuring extra footage starring Chinese actors. However, many Chinese felt that the extra parts were too contrived.
"There is going to be a single version (of the film) worldwide with a very significant Chinese component," Ganis said.
... In order to truly tap into the Chinese film market, Hollywood studios and filmmakers should tell stories that are more culturally connected to Chinese people and culture, Ganis said.
"Work on story lines. Work on demonstrating what Chinese culture is like, what the Chinese people are like and show that to the world as part of the natural art of the story," he said.
Ganis said Chinese culture has featured strong storytelling for thousands of years.
"But they need to get assistance in sound, video, editing, budgeting and publicity in order tell their stories to a worldwide audience in a way that they are used to having stories told," he said.

Soeben wurde ein Bild auf Michael-Bay-Dot-Com bestätigt, das es sich bei dem Schwarz Gelben Wagen tatsächlich um Bumblebee handelt. Es ist 1967er Camaro SS.

Soeben bekommen wir die ersten Bilder vom Set von Transformers 4 herein. Hier zu sehen ist ein sehr sehr alter G1 Optimus Prime. Auch zu sehen ist ein rostiger Truck im Hintergrund. Das könnte ein Dinobot sein. Auf einem Bild ist ein Wagen noch abgedeckt. Könnte das Bumblebee sein? Auf diesem Bild könnte man auch Ironhide sehen, Aber das ist alles Spekulation. Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden.
