Wir haben hier Neuigkeiten aus dem Transformers 5 Writers Room. So wie es jetzt aussieht wird Akiva Goldsman das Script zu Transformers 5 schreiben. Er wird es wohl für Mark Wahlberg als Hauptdarsteller und für Michael Bay als Director schreiben. Die Dreharbeiten sollen in Juni beginnen. Weiter können wir euch sagen, das Andrew Barrer und Gabriel Ferrari einen Animationsfilm schreiben, der sich auf die Ursprungsgeschichte auf Cybertron konzentriert. Weiter wird im Bericht von Deadline geschrieben, das alle Schreiber zusammen versuchen werden den Umfang des Transformers Universe wirklich zu erweitern.
Allerdings hat Michael Bay zu diesem Bericht schon folgendes getwittert:

No, it’s not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet. Just met with Steven and we are discussing.

Steven S. DeKnight, ein Schreiber aus dem Team im The Transformers Cinematic Universe Writers Room, hat jetzt darüber gesprochen.

“It’s that wonderful thing where features are now taking a page from television and getting people together to really try and plan things out. It was a wonderful experience. Akiva Goldsman was fantastic and Jeff Pinkner, who’s co-writing the fifth [Transformers] movie with him was phenomenal. Zak Penn… It was just a room full of brilliant, funny, amazing people. And we spent two and a half weeks in physically the best writers room I’ve ever seen in my life. Paramount pulled out all the stops. It was phenomenal! We laughed and joked and told stories and plotted out…”

DeKnight had to keep his secrets about Transformers, noting, “I can’t say what we plotted out, but it was all very exciting and in the next few months we’ll see what moves forward and what doesn’t move forward. But it was a fantastic experience. One of the best experiences of that was when Steven Spielberg popped by one afternoon to just sit and talk and hear what we were working on. Everybody was about to throw up, they were so excited.”

In einem Interview von Mark Wahlberg mit ColliderCollider hat der Schauspieler verlauten lassen, das Michael Bay doch in den Regiestuhl zu Transformers 5 zurück kehrt.

Collider: Do you have any update on the status of Transformers 5? Have you heard anything about what’s going on?

WAHLBERG: I don’t. Just that Akiva [Goldsman] and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But [Michael] Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back.

Do you think he’ll still ultimately direct it?

WAHLBERG: Yes.

Monday, June 8th is the first official day of operations at Paramount’s Transformers’ story room, where almost a dozen writers will steep their collective heads in franchise lore before churning out the next decades worth of stories for movies and television.

"We've got a work space that is beautifully production designed to be immersive with a strong sense of the franchise history…We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe."

"All of the writers will come away with this exercise with a movie treatment to write, including Goldsman. Those writers will then have first crack at writing the scripts for treatment that meet the approval of Paramount, Bay, [Steven] Spielberg, Hasbro and the producers."

If Goldsman is also making a treatment to add to the pile made by his 11 writers, that’s a total of 12 new Transformers movies that will be pitched to Paramount in the first round, and all of them will be capable of interconnecting with each other. There’s no telling how many of the pitches will be green-lit or how many stories will be kicked down to Transformers TV or video games, but the amount of output expected is impressive.

Au0erdem ist jetzt die rede von einem Beast Wars Spin-off.

“If one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole room,” Goldsman said.
